GREENSBORO, N.C. – Sarah Lewis scored twice in Guilford College's 7-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) soccer win over Hollins University Wednesday afternoon.
Three Quakers (9-5-2, 4-2-2 ODAC) each scored a goal and an assist as Guilford reached its highest win total since 2006.
The home team took a 3-0 halftime lead on tallies by Sarah Levitt and Bri Eilman sandwiched around Jaclyn Nucci goal off an Eilman corner kick into her own net. Guilford outshot Hollins (2-12, 0-8 ODAC), 15-1, in the opening period and 29-5 in the game.
Gabrielle Lahowitch converted a penalty kick less than three minutes into the second half after Hannah Schiltz was tripped up in the box. Junior defender Lily Wotkyns scored her first goal of the season on a 57th-minute blast from 35 yards out before Lewis came off the bench and scored consecutive tallies in the 87th and 89th minutes.
Three Guilford goalies combined on the shutout, which was preserved by a second-half team save by junior defender Dahlia Ghadry. Kristen Norkus made nine of Hollins' 12 saves.
The Quakers visit league-rival Bridgewater College Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
