SWEET BRIAR, Va. – Guilford College posted the eighth women's lacrosse shutout in school history in Saturday's 21-0 victory at Sweet Briar College Saturday. Demming Carlow and Taylor Campellone both scored three goals and two assists as the Quakers (3-5) won for the third time in four games. Guilford's 21 goals match the sixth-highest total in school history.
Guilford (3-5) scored on all but three first-half shots to take a 13-0 halftime lead. Holly Kozak scored all four of her points (3 goals, 1 assist) in the opening period, which saw the Quakers enjoy a 16-4 edge in shots. Guilford's Madison Iandoli also scored three times. The visitors had 12 different goal scorers in the game and found the back of the net on 21 of 29 shots.
Guilford goalie Sammi Milbourn stopped all three shots she faced to record the shutout. The Quakers won 14 of the game's 20 ground balls and picked up 19 ground balls to the Vixens' four.
Goalie Shawnta Sherman made four saves for Sweet Briar (0-3).
